New goal for the seasoned version of me: practice doing nothing. I had to set a timer at first. Now it’s easy and glorious. Writing about nothing in particular sounds glorious, too!
I relate to this so much! I definitely write for me, I have my whole life but did so HEAVILY since 2020 when i had my first baby during the pandemic, writing was my lifeboat❤️
Also this reminds me of “How to do Nothing” by Jenny O’Dell, highly recommend it😇
Hi there! Yes it’s so interesting because I thought having a baby would make me write less…but it’s been the total opposite. Thank goodness. The time pressure definitely helps with focus too 😆
I stumbled across your letter Ellen, seeing this quote restacked in notes, “It feels good to get older. To grow into myself. To not be in such a rush to do everything. To sit things out once in a while. To identify flowers instead.” Such beautiful phasing that called to me so directly. This is how I feel about getting older too… walking away from things, being a rock in a stream that flows on without feeling like I need to be bobbing along in the current. And then this too, “Feelings change. Life evolves. Bodies heal. Thank goodness.” Thank goodness indeed. I am looking forward to reading more ✨💛
